Stand by mode Outlawed in U.K.
http://www.realtechnews.com/posts/3264 Ok so this proves that people over in England are kinda strange. To save energy…they are going to outlaw “standby mode” in most home and office electronics. So instead of printers, computers, fax machines, TVs, DVD players, ect. being able to go into stand by…there will only be on and off. This is supposed to SAVE energy... which ironically is what standby mode was designed to do. According to The London Times Online standby mode uses 8% of the country’s energy. Obviously who ever had this great idea doesn’t know that people are in a hurry and lazy and will just leave everything on all the time.
